About SRO

We’ve produced and assisted with popular Twin Cities festivals & concerts like the Minnesota State Fair, Stone Arch Bridge Festival, Twin Cities Summer Jam, and WE Fest, while supporting transportation needs for national events including the Super Bowl, NFL Draft, NCAA College Football Playoff, the Big 10 Conference tournaments and the Kentucky Derby. It’s a track record few in the industry can match.
Our Company History
1970s
Founded in 1973 as a booking agency promoting performers at venues across the country, we adopted the industry term SRO ("Standing Room Only"), as our name.
A Twin Cities Legacy
Locally, SRO was known for booking non-orchestral acts with the Minnesota orchestra, performers such as B.B. King, Harry Belafonte, Yanni, and countless others.
1980s
The late 80s launched SRO into the CD compilation business when we pioneered the first Cities Sampler with Twin Cities radio station KTCZ-Cities 97.
1990s
When current SRO president, Steve Madson, joined SRO in 1993, his background in event planning and management brought a larger focus on the production of events.
2000s
In 2004, SRO founder Larry Berle retired to become a consultant and author, passing the torch of ownership onto Steve, who remains at the helm today.
Today
After 50 years in music & entertainment, SRO Productions, Inc. is still recognized nationally as a leader in an ever-changing industry.
